If you see this, something is broken.

Possibility #1: file operations in your folder is somehow difficult. Make sure your folder isn't located inside:

• flash drives
• cloud syncing folder (e.g. iCloud, GoogleDrive)
• "Documents" and "Desktop" on MacOS (because you might have turned on syncing them to iCloud. Google "MacOS toggle sync Desktop and Documents to iCloud")
• OneDrive tend to be fine, still be cautious though.

If you already put your folder in these places, give up the folder, create a new empty folder NOT in these places, reload tiktok.com and start over with the new folder.

Possibility #2: a browser settings is blocking something. You can simply try another browser. There are at least 2 browsers you can test (Chrome and Edge on Windows, Chrome and Safari on Mac). Test by dragging "Archive.html" into both browsers.

Possibility #3: a key file "app.js" is somehow missing.

• In this scenario, the browser extension can still correctly download all the mp4 files, but since "Archive.html" (this file) isn't working properly, the mp4 files are all named with numbers, which aren't worth collecting.
• This scenario was only reported in April 2024, when Windows Defender removed "app.js". Follow https://myfavett.com/about_virus_alert to fix.
